Gem Archer Reveals Oasis' First Training Session for Reunion Tour
JAKARTA - Oasis guitarist Gem Archer shared an emotional testimony about the moment when the Noel and Liam Gallagher brothers returned when they started a reunion tour.
As is known, Noel and Liam reunited after a dozen years of intense feuding, however, Archer said the atmosphere of the first rehearsal for the reunion tour felt as if the Manchester band had never broken up at all.
Recalling the series of reunion tours that ended last November, Archer admitted that he was stunned when he saw the interaction between the two main pillars of Oasis after being separated for so long.
"I've never seen them together until the first day we all trained," Archer said in a recent interview with Guitar World.
According to him, seeing Noel and Liam standing side by side at close range gives a very familiar impression.
"Just looking and seeing them apart about five feet away, it really felt like we'd never been apart. But of course I'm holding a guitar in my hand, there's stuff we've got to get done soon, so that's how it is," he added.
Although the reunion is highly anticipated by the public, Archer insists that the atmosphere in the practice room remains professional and not full of sentimental drama.
"It's not all about romantic stuff or, 'What do you want for Christmas?' or things like that! It's a serious business we're working on," Archer said, stressing the band's focus on the quality of the performance.
The tension that fans have been worried about seems to have melted on stage. Archer confirmed that the siblings really enjoyed their time together during the tour. He told how the two often joked backstage before the curtain opened.
"They would instantly make each other laugh on the ramp as we walked up," said the guitarist.
"It's almost like they're just in each other's ears and faces. But when the curtain goes up, everything changes, it becomes a show. But they are brothers - and that really comes through," he said.
