Drone Hits 2 Markets with Many Visitors in Sudan, 20 Dead

JAKARTA - A drone attack targeted a crowded market in the North Darfur state of Sudan, killing 10 people on Sunday, December 21 local time.

Citing AFP, Monday, December 22, the attack took place in the city of Kadugli, a region besieged by civil war and famine.

Until now, no party has claimed responsibility for the attack.

The North Darfur Emergency Room Council, one of hundreds of volunteer groups coordinating aid across Sudan, said a drone strike a day earlier hit the Al-Harra Market in the RSF-held town of Malha.

According to their statement, the attack killed 10 people.

Since April 2023, Sudanese soldiers and RSF paramilitaries have been engaged in a conflict that has killed tens of thousands of people, displaced nearly 12 million people, and created the world's largest refugee and famine crisis.
