Wawan Woker Uses AI to Record New Songs
JAKARTA - Known as a senior journalist, Wawan Woker tried his luck in the music world. He became a lyricist and singer by taking advantage of the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Eight songs from Wawan have been curated on various music streaming platforms such as Spotify, Tiktok, Youtube, Amazon, and 26 other digital music platforms around the world.
Wawan combines human creativity and AI in his production process. All lyrics are written purely from his thoughts, while for the musical arrangement, he gives a personal touch.
However, for vocals, Wawan uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology to achieve the specific sound quality desired, including female vocals.
"This is an achievement and a gift for the end of my year. A big music aggregator like SoundOn wants to accept my work," said Wawan in a written statement.
"The lyrics are purely what I made, the music has my interference, but my vocals use AI technology to get the right 'feel'. It turns out that the results are very helpful, especially for songs that require female vocals," he added.
Regarding the themes of his songs, Wawan admitted that he was inspired by real stories and social criticism. The use of AI itself, according to him, is one form of adaptation to technology.
Currently in Indonesia at least, there is no clear regulation regarding the use of AI in musical works. However, trends and technology are moving there, becoming an interesting discourse about the use of imitation intelligence in art.
