A Group of Men with Curly Hair Reportedly Failed the KPK to Seal the Kajari Room in Bekasi Regency

JAKARTA - The steps taken by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) team to seal the room of the Head of the Bekasi Regency Prosecutor's Office (Kajari) Eddy Sumarman failed during a series of hand-in-hand operations (OTT) in Bekasi Regency, West Java on Thursday, December 18.

VOI sources said the sealing failed because the team that came to the location was blocked by a number of men with curly hair and a sturdy body.

"At the time of the OTT yesterday, there were parties who prevented the team from sealing the Kajari room. The group of men with curly hair and a sturdy body," said a source who knew the course of the OTT.

Regarding this information, VOI has tried to confirm the acting (Plt) Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Asep Guntur Rahayu. But, he did not answer further, "where is the information from," he said through a short message, Monday, December 22.

Meanwhile, KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo has not responded to the information.

Even so, the anti-corruption commission team had sealed Eddy's house in the Bekasi and Pondok Indah area. The sealing was carried out because the anti-corruption commission sniffed out the illegal practices carried out by Eddy Sumarman as the Kajari of Bekasi Regency.

"So, the sealing was carried out during the OTT, initially the perpetrator was suspected of committing a corruption crime," Asep said at a press conference at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta on Saturday morning, December 20.

Asep also said that the team at that time failed to bring Eddy together with the parties who were caught OTT in Bekasi Regency to the KPK Red and White building. However, he did not explain the cause.

Asep only mentioned that Eddy's involvement was brought in the title of the case or exposed together with the leadership. But, the final decision, the name was not included in the same case as Ade Kuswara et al.

"The involvement of these parties will certainly be discussed in the expose, but those who are determined to be investigated are those who have indeed met the sufficiency of the evidence," he explained.

Because of this condition, Asep said, his men had opened a seal at Eddy's house.

"Because of the lack of evidence, then we will certainly open the property that was sealed. Immediately after it was determined not to rise or not to be designated as a suspect, because it is his right," said Asep, who also served as the Director of Investigation of the KPK.

As previously reported, the KPK named Bekasi Regent Ade Kuswara together with his father, H. M Kumang who also served as the Head of Sukadami Village, South Cikarang District; and a private named Sarjan as suspects in the alleged bribery case. They were detained at the KPK State Detention House (Rutan) for the first 20 days until January 8, 2026.

Ade Kuswara and H.M Kunang as the recipients of bribes are suspected of violating Article 12 a or Article 11 and Article 12B of the Corruption Eradication Law (UU Tipikor) in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1-1 of the Criminal Code and Article 5 paragraph (1) letter a or b or Article 13 of the Tipikor Law in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) -1 of the Criminal Code.

Meanwhile, Sarjan as the party who gave the bribe was suspected of violating Article 5 paragraph (1) letter a or b or Article 13 of the Corruption Law.
