After the Flood, West Aceh Residents Begin to Return Home
MEULABOH - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of West Aceh Regency has ensured that all people affected by the natural disaster of flash floods and overflow floods in the local area, until now have returned home and are no longer in the evacuation location.
"Alhamdulillah, all refugees victims of natural disasters during the flood are now at home," said Acting Head of the West Aceh Regency BPBD, Teuku Ronal Nehdiansyah, quoted by Antara, Monday, December 22.
He said that the number of people in West Aceh Regency who were victims or affected by the natural disaster of flash floods in the area reached 39,890 people or 13,826 families (KK).
The victims are spread across ten sub-districts, including in the Johan Pahlawan sub-district with 5,753 people/1,971 households, the Kaway XVI sub-district with 6,871 people/2,542 households, the Meureubo sub-district with 3,989 people/1,386 households, the Pante Ceureumen sub-district with 6,886 people/2,121 households, the Sungai Mas sub-district with 862 people/500 households.
Then, Woyla District with 6,402 people/2,256 households, East Woyla District with 1,367 people/458 households, West Woyla District with 4,486 people/1,511 households, Arongan Lambalek District with 3,219 people/1,056 households, and Panton Reue District with 55 people/25 households.
In addition, the local government has also distributed various panic-time assistance to flood victims, consisting of rice, eggs, cooking oil, instant noodles, and various other assistance.
Teuku Ronal Nehdiansyah added that currently the number of people who are still isolated is 117 people or 37 heads of households (KK) spread across Sikundo Village, Pante Ceureumen District, West Aceh Regency.
The West Aceh Regency Government is currently continuing to make efforts to repair the road to the Sikundo area, Pante Ceureumen District, after the five-kilometer road access to the remote area was severely damaged by the river when the flood disaster occurred at the end of November 2025.
