Gem Archer's Confession Regarding the Cut Oasis Reunion Tour Setlist
JAKARTA - The latest news from behind the scenes of the magnificent Oasis reunion has resurfaced, which was revealed directly from the guitarist, Gem Archer.
The guitarist who has long been a pillar of support for the Gallagher brothers revealed interesting facts about the song list (setlist) that was presented during the Oasis reunion tour series.
Archer revealed that the initial plan for the Oasis reunion tour's song list was actually much longer than what fans witnessed on stage.
He said there were originally four additional songs that were included in the curation before they were finally cut for the sake of efficiency of the performance.
"I can hardly believe it. I feel, 'Wow - we haven't even got to the Supersonic song.' It's really crazy. The guys have been arranging it for a long time," Archer said, quoting Guitar World, Monday, December 22.
"The list was then changed; we started with, I think, 27 songs, and it ended up being 23 songs," he continued.
Even though many fans hope for variations or surprises in songs such as "Lyla", "Columbia", and "Stop Crying Your Heart Out", Oasis actually remains consistent with the same 23 songs in every city.
Archer reflected that the decision did not detract from the magical energy between the band and the audience which he described as something unprecedented.
"The feeling between us and the crowd is the same in every city. Every show is just a celebration full of joy," said the 59-year-old guitarist.
Regarding Oasis' future after the reunion tour, Archer gave an enigmatic signal. Although he admitted that he did not know the details of the future plans, he leaked Noel's words to him.
"There is no time to rest for those who are very talented, so take it as you like," he concluded.
