BMKG: West Java, East Java, to NTT Potentially Heavy Rain
JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that most of Indonesia will be potentially hit by rain with varying intensities on Monday, December 22, ranging from light rain, moderate rain to heavy rain, and rain accompanied by lightning.
BMKG Praktirawan Alya Sausan said heavy to very heavy rain was predicted to occur in West Java, East Java, West Nusa Tenggara, and East Nusa Tenggara.
"BMKG urges the public to increase vigilance against the potential for heavy to very heavy rain that is predicted to occur in West Java, East Java, West Nusa Tenggara, and East Nusa Tenggara," said Alya, quoted by Antara, Monday morning.
Meanwhile, for the potential of rain accompanied by lightning, BMKG predicts that the weather conditions are potentially occurring in the Bandar Lampung, Lampung; Bandung, West Java; Surabaya, East Java; Tanjung Selor, North Kalimantan; and Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara.
Meanwhile, moderate rain is predicted to occur in Mamuju, West Sulawesi, and Merauke, South Papua.
Meanwhile, light rain potential is predicted to rain on a number of major cities, namely Pekanbaru, Riau; Palembang, South Sumatra; Serang, Banten; Semarang and Yogyakarta, Central Java; Pontianak, West Kalimantan; Samarinda, East Kalimantan; Palangkaraya, Central Kalimantan; Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan; Denpasar, Bali; Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara.
Then Makassar, South Sulawesi; Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi; Palu, Central Sulawesi; Gorontalo; Ternate, North Maluku; Ambon, Maluku; Sorong and Manokwari, West Papua; Nabire and Jayawijaya, Papua Mountains; and Jayapura, Papua.
In addition to rain, BMKG also predicts that conditions of thick clouds are potentially occurring in Banda Aceh, Aceh; Medan, North Sumatra; Tanjung Pinang, Riau Islands; Jambi; Bengkulu; Pangkal Pinang, Bangka Belitung Islands; Jakarta; and Manado, North Sulawesi.
Meanwhile, the potential for smoke or fog is predicted to occur in Padang, West Sumatra.
