JAKARTA - The State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Family through the BUMN Peduli program "One Heart for Sumatra" is moving quickly and working together to ensure that humanitarian assistance is distributed to disaster-affected communities in various regions of Sumatra.
PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI is part of this collective effort by distributing emergency response assistance on a measurable and needs-based basis in the field.
Since the early stages of the emergency response, BNI along with other SOEs has been present to directly support the fulfillment of people's basic needs, ranging from food, health logistics, to supporting facilities for disaster posts. All assistance is distributed through coordination with the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) and local governments to ensure that distribution is effective and targeted.
BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo said that the presence of SOEs in the midst of disasters was realized through concrete actions and cross-party synergy. "The Big BUMN Family is present with one spirit, moving quickly and working together so that the assistance is really felt by the affected community. The assistance provided includes 25 tons of rice, 10 tons of sugar, 10,000 liters of cooking oil, instant noodles, canned milk, coffee and tea, as well as health needs, hygiene supplies, and kitchen support equipment and refugees.
As for Aceh, BNI established an assistance post located in North Aceh and South East Aceh as a coordination and distribution center for assistance for affected communities. Through the post, BNI distributed emergency response assistance focused on providing 4 units of clean water tanks, health and trauma healing services, cooking equipment, 30 emergency tents, and educational equipment in the form of 1,200 school uniforms for elementary, junior high, and high school children affected by the disaster.
According to Okki, the distribution of assistance is carried out gradually and continues to be adjusted to the development of conditions in the field. "Distribution of assistance is carried out through intensive coordination with the BPBD and local government so that it really answers the needs of the community and has a direct impact," he said.
Through the synergy of BUMN Peduli "One Heart for Sumatra", BNI emphasizes its commitment to continue to be present to accompany the community, not only in the emergency response phase, but also in the process of sustainable recovery.
BNI together with the BUMN Family will continue to monitor conditions on the ground and adjust the support needed as a form of the role of state-owned enterprises in serving and protecting the community.
