DAY6 Concert Refund Not Clear, Mecimapro Offers Credit Conversion Scheme
JAKARTA - The uncertainty of when the refund of the DAY6 concert tickets will be completed has made the Mecimapro promoter offer a shortcut through a conversion program.
As is known, the South Korean pop-rock band, DAY6, last held a solo concert in Jakarta in May.
The spotlight was on the promoter because of the change of location from the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) to the Madya Senayan Stadium. Dissatisfaction among fans made many people buy tickets to choose the refund option.
Now, those who applied for refunds are faced with a difficult choice, either waiting faithfully for an uncertain process or converting their money into credit.
Mecimapro offers two conversion options to speed up the settlement of claims. Customers can convert the value of their tickets into credit at Mecimashop with the lure of an additional five percent balance and free shipping.
The second option is to convert it into another Mecimapro event ticket with privileges in the form of presale access and seat upgrade opportunities.
"The refund conversion program is an option for customers to use the refund amount as credit. This program helps customers get a faster solution without waiting for a batch of refunds in the form of cash," Mecimapro wrote in a statement on Instagram, quoted Sunday, December 21.
This step was taken amid pressure on the slow refund process. The promoter reasoned that cross-system validation with the ticketing platform requires extra accuracy so that there is no transfer error.
Moreover, for purchases through the promotional program, Mecimapro explicitly states that it will not be returned in cash, but will automatically become a deposit.
Although claiming that this option has been consulted with the authorities and in accordance with legal regulations, this policy still triggers debate among fans. For some fans, the conversion option is considered a promoter strategy to keep cash flow within the company.
Mecimapro itself emphasized that this conversion program is optional for regular buyers. However, for those who still choose the cash lane, "patience" seems to still be the main requirement because of the process of verifying thousands of data.
"The refund process is being carried out in stages and takes time because the amount of data that must be verified and processed is very large," said Mecimapro.
"In addition to processing refunds, our current priority is to complete billing to spectators who have used their tickets but have not made payments, even though reminders have been sent several times. We are committed to completing this process as quickly and efficiently as possible," he said.
