DAY6 Urung Ticket Refunds Completed, Mecimapro Blames Ticketing Partner as a Hindrance
JAKARTA - Music promoter Mecimapro spoke up about the delay in the refund process for tickets to the DAY6 3rd World Tour <Forever Young> concert in Jakarta, which has been going on since last May.
In the midst of the insistent My Day - the name of DAY6 fans - which has not subsided on social media, the promoter revealed that there was a complication in validating data involving a conflict with their ticket sales partner.
Mecimapro claimed that one of the main obstacles to the disbursement of funds was the unilateral refund action taken by the ticketing partner without the promoter's approval.
This triggered massive data synchronization, especially during the day of the event. The promoter said that the partner party actually released responsibility and was not present in the field to provide technical explanations.
"We need to explain that the unilateral refund carried out by our ticketing partner without our consent has caused data to be out of sync," Mecimapro said in an official statement on Instagram, quoted on Sunday, December 21.
In addition to internal problems between companies, promoters argue that thousands of applicant data must be re-verified due to inconsistent audience behavior. There are many cases where customers who have applied for refunds have decided to attend the concert that has changed locations.
"The verification process is carried out to ensure: the data is correct and complete; funds are transferred to the correct account and the correct holder data; there is no technical error or mistake," added the promoter.
Mecimapro emphasized that the process of moving the location from the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) to the Madya Senayan Stadium was purely because of the transfer of land function for national sports activities, not the promoter's desire.
Until now, the promoter has expressed its commitment to completing the return of the basic ticket price in stages. However, they also prioritize billing to spectators who have used tickets but have not made payments.
"The refund process is being carried out in stages and takes time because the amount of data that must be verified and processed is very large," said Mecimapro.
"In addition to processing refunds, our current priority is to complete billing to spectators who have used their tickets but have not made payments, even though reminders have been sent several times. We are committed to completing this process as quickly and efficiently as possible," he said.
