Start Poverty, Disabled MSMEs and Dhuafa Can Get Support for Facilities and Capital

JAKARTA - A number of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) managed by vulnerable groups, especially people with disabilities and dhuafa, have received support from Jakpro Perkasa, namely the empowerment of creative and equivalent people's economy.

The activity was held in the area of the implementation of the Jakarta LRT phase 1 B Velodrome-Manggarai construction project.

Support for activities begins with capacity building through technical skills training and business management that is tailored to the specific needs of participants, followed by support for facilities and capital through assistance for production tools and access to funding to start or expand businesses.

"We believe that physical and economic limitations are not an obstacle to contributing to the Jakarta economy. We want to ensure that the city's economic growth is inclusive," said Jakpro's VP Corporate Secretary, Yeni Widayanti.

Yeni hopes that the beneficiaries will later be able to transform from recipients of assistance into economic drivers who are able to create new jobs in their environment.

In addition, this activity targets measurable changes for beneficiaries, especially the disabled group, by encouraging the birth of group-based economic independence.

At least 20 beneficiaries are targeted to have active businesses that are managed together, as well as strengthened with the mastery of new skills that are relevant to market needs with a target of at least 80% of participants being able to master these technical skills as a foundation for business sustainability.

This activity is to form a solid disabled business group institution, complete with an inter-member support system so that collaboration and access to external partners are increasingly open.

"Jakpro perkasa is not merely a grant of capital assistance, but an effort to create an inclusive ecosystem. We are proud to see that our disabled and poor colleagues now not only have new skills, but also solid business organizations and real income increases," he said.

Yeni emphasized his commitment to continue supporting sustainable development, especially in poverty alleviation and reducing social inequality in Jakarta.
