Residential Area in Kapuk Muara Burns
JAKARTA - A densely populated settlement on the banks of the Kapuk Muara Road, Gang Hakiki, RT 05/RW 04, Kapuk Muara Village, Penjaringan District, North Jakarta, was hit by a fire on Sunday morning, December 21.
The first fire was reported by residents around 05.55 WIB. Following up on the report, the North Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Sudin Gulkarmat) dispatched nine fire trucks to the location at 06.01 WIB.
"The burning object is a residential house with a low-rise building type. The building material is semi-permanent," said the Head of Operations Section of the North Jakarta and Thousand Islands Gulkarmat, Gatot Sulaeman.
The first fire brigade was deployed from the Teluk Gong Sector Damkar Post because it was the closest to the crime scene (TKP).
"The fire extinguishing operation began at 06.01 WIB. The fire was successfully localized and controlled at around 06.44 WIB. Currently, officers are still carrying out the cooling process," he said.
A total of 45 firefighters were deployed to handle the incident.
Until this news was released, the cause of the fire was still under investigation. Officers have also not received reports of any casualties or injuries due to the incident.
