Police Allegedly Tortured Song Guide At Karaoke Kuta
DENPASAR - Denpasar Police is still investigating the case of unscrupulous police officers suspected of assaulting a woman with the initials YA (24), a song guide at Grahadi Bali, Karaoke and Music Room, on Jalan By Pass Ngurah Rai, Kuta, Badung Regency, Bali.
"What is clear is that we have already carried out the process and the point is we are investigating these members. In the context of the task or not. Already in the process," said Denpasar Police Chief Kombes Jansen Avitus Panjaitan, at the Denpasar Police Headquarters, Thursday, May 27.
From the information gathered, the woman was suspected of being persecuted by unscrupulous members of the Bali Regional Police who were assigned to the Denpasar Police Criminal Unit, with the rank of Iptu.
The persecution took place in the central courtyard near the Grahadi restaurant on the evening of Tuesday, May 25. Due to the abuse, the female guide again had bruises on her face and body.
But Jansen said there were no beatings. Currently being investigated the intent of the police concerned being at a karaoke place.
"Meanwhile, we cross-check there. The information we get is not there (the beatings). Only, we ask the whereabouts of the members there. The presence of them (members) there we question in the framework of their duties or not," he added.
At the time of the incident, there were 8 police officers. Jansen calls them to a karaoke location for investigation.
"We are still investigating 8 members. What should we eat in order to do this. Is it a task, if an assignment means there must be an assignment warrant. Meanwhile, their information is that there are activities for investigation. We are still investigating it," he explained.
Currently, his party is still collecting evidence related to the incident. Meanwhile, the victim is said to have not made a report.
"What is clear is that there are members who enter places like that. So, we know that members are prohibited from entering such places except for the purpose of their duties," he said.
"So, while we try to develop in what series the members there are. There are no reports of (victims)," said Jansen.
