HONOR Magic V6 Will Use Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and Jumbo 7,200 mAh Battery

JAKARTA - HONOR is rumored to be preparing its latest folding phone, the Magic V6, which is said to have the potential to outperform most other folding phones on the market. This device will be the successor to the Magic V5 and is projected to bring significant improvements, especially in the performance, battery, and camera sectors.

The latest leak from the famous Digital Chat Station leaker on Weibo revealed that the HONOR Magic V6 has entered the development stage. This folding phone is said to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, the latest generation of high-end processors prepared for flagship devices.

One of the main attractions of the Magic V6 is its battery capacity. HONOR is reportedly testing two dual-cell battery options, namely 6,900 mAh and a larger version of 7,200 mAh. If this information is accurate, the Magic V6 will have the largest battery in the folding phone class, surpassing the Nubia Fold with a 6,560 mAh battery and the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 which has a much smaller capacity.

For comparison, its predecessor, the HONOR Magic V5, also comes in two battery variants, namely 5,820 mAh for the global market and 6,100 mAh for the Chinese market. Digital Chat Station says the Magic V6 battery capacity can be about 1,000 mAh larger than its competitors.

Despite carrying a very large battery capacity, the Magic V6 is rumored to still carry an ultra-thin design, making it one of the slimmest folding phones in its class. In terms of cameras, the prototype being tested is said to be equipped with a 200 MP main camera and a periscope lens with 3x optical zoom.

Information regarding the charging speed has not been revealed, but it is confirmed that this device will support wireless charging. In addition, the HONOR Magic V6 is also rumored to have a fingerprint sensor on the side of the body, as well as dust and water resistance support, like the previous generation.

Until now, there is no certainty regarding the official launch schedule of the HONOR Magic V6. However, this folding phone is expected to be launched around June 2026, following the pattern of its predecessor's release.
