Prabowo Adds Housing Budget to Rp. 10 Trillion, Home Surgery Program to Reach All Districts/Cities in 2026

JAKARTA - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has shown his commitment to providing housing access to all elements of society. One of his efforts is to increase the budget for the housing sector so that the Bedah Rumah program can reach all districts/cities in Indonesia.

The policy was conveyed by Minister of Housing and Spatial Planning Maruarar Sirait at the Mass Akad 50,030 FLPP Mortgage and Key Delivery event which was attended by President Prabowo in Serang, Banten, Saturday, December 20.

Maruarar said that in previous years there were still many areas that had not been touched by the Home Surgery program. However, he said, this changed under President Prabowo's leadership.

"This year there are 222 regencies/cities that do not have the House Surgery program. In fact, in the last five years, there are 22 regencies that have never received it," said Maruarar, Saturday, December 20.

Maruarar said that thanks to data-based policies and the principle of justice, next year all districts/cities in Indonesia will receive the Bedah Rumah program. He explained that the policy was supported by a significant increase in housing budgets.

According to Maruarar, his ministry's budget has increased from around Rp5 trillion this year to more than Rp10 trillion next year at Prabowo's direction. Of the total budget, he emphasized that around 80 percent was allocated directly to the people, especially through the Bedah Rumah program.

"80 percent of our budget is for the people through the Bedah Rumah program," he said.

Maruarar revealed that this program is very important because there are still 26.9 million Indonesians who have houses but in an unlivable condition. Therefore, the increase in the budget is directed to answer the real needs of the community.

In addition, Maruarar also conveyed a significant increase in the target number of houses to be renovated. He said that the number of Bedah Rumah programs, which was previously only around 45 thousand units, next year will be increased to around 400 thousand units, or an increase of almost eight times.

On this occasion, Maruarar expressed his appreciation to Prabowo for the housing policy which he considered to be in favor of the little people and based on justice. According to him, this policy reflects Prabowo's commitment to ensuring the presence of the state evenly, not only in big cities, but to all regions in Indonesia, through housing programs that directly touch the people's needs.

"Thank you, Mr. President. We have no choice but to work very hard," he said.
