Prabowo: 29 Million People Don't Have a House
JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto said that there are still 29 million Indonesians who do not have a house, when he witnessed the mass deed of 50,030 Housing Credit for Housing Payment Liquidity Facilities (KPR FLPP) in Serang, Banten, Saturday.
In his remarks, President Prabowo emphasized that providing houses for the people requires hard work with the Red and White Cabinet ministers, especially the Minister of Housing and Settlements (PKP) Maruarar Sirait (Ara).
"Today I feel happy, even though I realize that the journey is still far, our ideals are still far away. 29 million of our people still don't have a house. So Mr. Ara works hard, all our ministers are compact, we find a way. If there is a will, there must be a way," said Prabowo as seen in the live broadcast of the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube account from Jakarta, Saturday.
In line with Maruarar's statement in his previous speech, the President acknowledged that people from the poorest economic class are able to revive the economy if they are capable.
Therefore, the President is determined to eliminate poverty by stopping irregularities, corruption and all fraud in this country.
Prabowo also appreciated the mass signing of 50,030 Housing Credit for Housing Payment Liquidity Facility (KPR FLPP) and the handover of keys in 2025, which he considered as an extraordinary achievement that began since the era of the 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), then the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
"An extraordinary achievement, 50,030 mass contracts for subsidized houses. And this program started from President SBY, continued by Pak Jokowi, I continue, I improve! There is no national development that is not carried out in a long period," said Prabowo.
In this event, the President symbolically handed over the keys to subsidized houses to 10 low-income people (MBR) from various regions in Indonesia.
The 10 MBRs are Dicky Mubarok, who is a substitute teacher from Cianjur, Suyono (blind from Semarang Regency), Sanah Maemunah (traveling coffee trader from Serang), and Suparmin (online ojeg driver from Bekasi).
