Pertamina Guarantees Sufficient Fuel Stock During the Christmas Holiday

PADANG - PT Pertamina Persero guarantees that the supply of fuel oil (BBM), including LPG and the like, is sufficient during the Christmas and New Year (Nataru) 2026 holiday period, even though at this time the agency is also focused on meeting the needs in disaster-affected areas.

"For Nataru, the condition is in a safe stock," said PT Pertamina (Persero) Corporate Secretary Arya Dwi Paramita in Padang City, Saturday.

Arya explained that the supply of fuel, epiji and other types has passed the company's studies, calculations and strategies, including when natural disasters occur such as those that have hit three provinces on the island of Sumatra today.

"We have taken into account the energy supply so that the public does not need to panic buying and we urge them to buy according to their needs," he said, appealing.

The supply and energy needs include all areas in the country including in Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra. However, the distribution process in the three disaster-affected areas is not as large as other areas because it is still constrained by access.

According to him, the provision and distribution of fuel during the Christmas holiday period has become a joint work across agencies. This annual agenda also involves various parties such as the TNI and Polri to related ministries and agencies.

On that occasion, Arya also welcomed the response of the local government which immediately reported the incident of a spike in LPG prices in the midst of the current disaster situation.

"Pertamina responded quickly by conducting market operations at several points, especially in the Sumatra region which was affected by flash floods and landslides," said Arya.
