Commission V of the DPR Values WFA Effective in Reducing Traffic Congestion during the Nataru Homecoming
Member of Commission V of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Gerindra Faction, Danang Wicaksana Sulistya (DWS), assessed that the Work From Anywhere (WFA) policy during the 2025 Christmas and New Year (Nataru) homecoming peak was an effective solution to reduce congestion at the peak of the homecoming flow. According to him, this policy can have a positive impact on the smooth flow of traffic, especially on the main land, sea, and air homecoming routes.
"WFA has proven to be successful in reducing the density of the homecoming flow during last Eid," said Danang in Jakarta, Saturday, December 20.
Danang said the implementation of WFA provided flexibility in time for people to travel home and make traffic more smooth. So that there is no accumulation of vehicles on certain days.
"The WFA policy during Nataru can break the peak of the homecoming flow. With more flexible travel time, people do not pile up on one or two specific days, so that traffic flows more smoothly," he said.
Furthermore, Danang revealed that the potential number of movements or people who go home during the Christmas season reaches 119.5 million people. The member of the transportation commission explained that the government plans to reapply the WFA policy on December 29 to 31, 2025.
"This policy is expected to optimize transportation management while reducing congestion at various travel nodes during the year-end holidays," said the Gerindra Legislator from the Central Java III District.
Danang also appreciated the government's steps which have coordinated across ministries and agencies. Including the Ministry of Transportation, the Ministry of PANRB, the National Police, and local governments, to ensure that the WFA policy is effective and does not interfere with public services.
"This cross-ministerial coordination is very important so that the implementation of WFA continues to run in balance between the smooth homecoming and the sustainability of services to the community," he said.
As a working partner for the infrastructure and transportation sectors, Commission V of the DPR RI, added Danang, will continue to carry out supervision so that the WFA policy can provide maximum benefits to the community.
"Especially in encouraging safe, comfortable, and smooth Nataru homecoming," he concluded.
