Bahlil ensures that fuel and electricity stocks are safe before Christmas and New Year
JAKARTA - Stocks of fuel oil (BBM), LPG, and electricity are safe ahead of the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year celebrations. This is confirmed by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia.
"In terms of fuel stocks, our national reserves to run Christmas and New Year, God willing, are safe. So our brothers who will celebrate Christmas, don't think about fuel stocks, God willing, everything is safe," said Bahlil in a Press Conference for the Readiness of the ESDM Sector to Face the Christmas Holiday Period in 2025 and New Year 2026 in Jakarta, Friday evening, quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, December 20.
For fuel, Bahlil explained that the endurance of Pertalite or RON 90 type is 19 days, above the national minimum endurance of 17-18 days. For RON 92 gasoline above 23 days, and for RON 95 above 31 days.
Meanwhile, the minimum endurance limit for solar is 14 days. For CN 48 solar or subsidized solar, it is 15 days, CN 53 solar or non-subsidized solar is in the range of 25 days. Meanwhile, for avtur above 29 days.
Regarding the condition of LPG, Bahlil said that as of Friday (19/12/2025), the condition of LPG stock was 314,394 metric tons (MT), with a daily objective throughput (DOT) of 25,832 MT/day, so that the national LPG reserve stock reached 12.17 days.
This figure shows that the status of the national LPG condition is also in a safe condition.
Bahlil added that for the condition of national electricity, in general, in normal conditions. The availability of raw materials for power plants, there is no problem, with primary energy reserves of more than 10 days, both fuel, gas, and coal.
For geological disasters, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has mitigated the status of several volcanoes, with three volcanoes in the alert status, namely Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki, Merapi, and Semeru. Meanwhile, 24 volcanoes are in a state of alert.
The government is prioritizing the electricity conditions in West Sumatra, North Sumatra, and Aceh after the recent hydrometeorological disaster.
Minister Bahlil said that the electricity conditions in North Sumatra and West Sumatra provinces gradually began to recover and could be resolved starting one week after the disaster.
For Aceh, Bahlil said that the city of Banda Aceh, Thursday (18/12/2025), has returned to normal as it was before the disaster, with 120 megawatts of power in Banda Aceh back to normal.
Bahlil said there were still four districts in Aceh whose electricity conditions were still below 50 percent, namely Aceh Tamiang Regency, Bener Meriah, Gayo, and Central Aceh.
"But in terms of the backbone from Sumatra, then Bireun, then Arun, it's all connected. God willing, if the low towers or low poles are completed, then we can finish it," he said.
