Khofifah Says TNI-Polri Synergy is the Key to Nataru Security in East Java
JAKARTA - The Governor of East Java, Khofifah Indar Parawansa, said that the synergy of the TNI, Polri, and supporting institutions was the key to securing Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 in East Java.
"I support the mandate of the National Police Chief that the success of the Nataru service is a shared responsibility. The key to the success of the implementation of an operation is the solidity and synergy in carrying out the task," said Khofifah after attending the Central Police Operation Command Parade of the Lilin Semeru 2025 at the East Java Regional Police Headquarters Field, quoted by Antara, Saturday, December 20.
He emphasized the solidity of cross-sectors as the main foundation in creating a sense of security and comfort for the community during Christmas and New Year celebrations, given the high mobility of residents during long holidays.
Operation Lilin 2025 involves 14,000 joint personnel from the National Police, TNI personnel, and personnel from other related agencies.
Security objects include churches, shopping centers, terminals, stations, ports, airports, tourist attractions, and New Year's Eve celebration locations.
"With the readiness of personnel, facilities, and solid cross-sectoral coordination, we ensure that Christmas and New Year celebrations in East Java can take place safely, smoothly, and conducive," he said.
He also emphasized the readiness of the health sector by maximizing hospital and puskesmas services, and asked the State Electricity Company (PLN) to maintain the reliability of electricity supply and Pertamina to ensure the availability of fuel during the Nataru holiday.
To the public, he urged residents who travel and leave home for a long time to report to the local neighborhood and neighborhood residents to minimize the potential for criminal acts.
