Polda Kaltara Holds Apel Operation Lilin Kayan 2025, Secures Christmas-New Year Security
TANJUNG SELOR - The North Kalimantan Regional Police (Polda) held a 77th National Security Day commemoration ceremony and a parade of the Lilin Kayan 2025 Central Police Operation troops in the Mapolda yard.
This activity marks the beginning of full readiness for security for Christmas and New Year celebrations in North Kalimantan.
Apel was led directly by the Head of the Kaltara Police, Inspector General Djati Wiyoto Abadhy, and conducted a check on the troops consisting of TNI-Polri personnel and supporting elements from local government agencies, including the North Kalimantan Provincial BPBD, Health Service, and Transportation Service. This inspection of the troops confirmed the readiness of personnel, facilities, and infrastructure in supporting the implementation of the 2025 Lilin Kayan Operation.
The Head of the Kaltara Police emphasized that the theme of National Day, Strengthening National Defense for a Prosperous Indonesia, has strategic significance for all state apparatus.
"National defense is not only related to military power, but is also realized through integrity, discipline, and responsibility in carrying out duties and services to the community," said the Police Chief, Friday, December 19.
Irjen Djati also explained that the title of the Lilin Kayan 2025 Operation force was to anticipate the potential increase in community mobility during the Christmas and New Year period, which is estimated to increase by 7.97 percent compared to the previous year.
"On the other hand, the dynamics of extreme weather are a crucial factor that must be anticipated," said Inspector General Djati.
Based on BMKG information, there are three cyclonic systems around Indonesia that have the potential to trigger heavy rain, strong winds, and high waves, with the peak of the rainy season expected to last from November 2025 to February 2026.
"This condition requires maximum readiness of all personnel, both in terms of security, public services, and rapid handling of potential kamtibmas and natural disasters," said the Police Chief.
In addition, the Kapolda of Kaltara emphasized the importance of solidity and synergy across sectors in every task. He also asked all levels to prioritize professionalism, a humanistic approach, and a quick response to community needs during the implementation of Nataru.
"Make Christmas and New Year security as the best form of service and intend every task as a field of worship," he said.
The Police Chief explained that the Lilin Kayan 2025 operation would be carried out for 14 days, starting from December 20, 2025 to January 2, 2026.
"In this operation, the Kaltara Police prepared security posts, service posts, and integrated posts at a number of strategic points to provide a sense of safety and comfort to the community," he said.
