South Korean Young Star Alumni PD U-17 2023 Becomes Real Madrid Target

JAKARTA - South Korean sensation Yang Min-Hyeok is Real Madrid's target. The Tottenham Hotspur winger, who visited Indonesia when he appeared in the 2023 U-17 World Cup, is now loaned to Porstmouth.

The U-17 World Cup in Indonesia has once again produced talented young players. Yes, Yang strengthened South Korea who competed in the World Cup. However, South Korea had the same fate as the host Indonesia who had been eliminated in the group stage.

Who is it? This young man started to seriously pursue football in high school and then entered the Gangwon FC academy in 2024. He didn't take long to enter the main team and play in the Korean League (K League).

Even Yang was elected as the Best Player of the July edition. He is also recorded as the youngest player in the history of the Korean league to have won the award.

After his success in the K League, he was recruited by Tottenham from Gangwon FC for a price of 3.5 million pounds in 2025. He got a six-year contract and while learning English, Yang was loaned to Championship clubs.

Even though he plays in the second tier of the English League, Yang is apparently on Madrid's radar. According to Defensa Central, quoted by The Sun, Yang is projected to replace Vinicius Junior or Rodrygo, who will sooner or later be loaned out by Madrid.

The Spanish LaLiga giant showed seriousness in recruiting Yang after scoring two goals and one assist during 18 appearances at Pompey. They are trying to get Tottenham to release their player for a price of 4.4 million pounds plus a bonus of 1.8 million pounds.

If the offer is accepted, Yang will not immediately enter the main team. He first joined the Real Madrid Castilla 'B' team. Next, if his performance continues to rise, Yang will enter the Los Blancos squad that competes in the highest class.

Who also will never play for Hotspur because he joined Madrid while still playing at Portsmouth.
