50 Buildings in Jaksel Investigated, Prevent Unwanted Things

JAKARTA - The South Jakarta Administration City Government through the Sub-Directorate of Construction, Spatial Planning, and Land (Sudin CKTRP) conducted a standard eligibility examination for 50 buildings.

"I ask that all buildings in South Jakarta be inspected in accordance with standard operating procedures without exception," said South Jakarta Mayor Muhammad Anwar in Jakarta, Friday, December 19, 2025.

Anwar emphasized that the inspection of all building buildings was carried out as a form of anticipation of fire, in accordance with the Circular Letter of the Mayor of the South Jakarta Administration Number e-0014/SE/2025 dated December 17, 2025 regarding the Appeal for Anticipation of Potential Fires in Building Buildings.

In addition to inspecting buildings, Anwar also instructed the district and village levels to identify potential problems related to disaster preparedness in the community.

"All camats and lurah are asked to activate disaster standby posts, facilities, and infrastructure, and carry out disaster risk reduction procedures in the face of the rainy season," he said.

This step is a follow-up to the instructions of the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung, as a preventive effort following the increase in building fires that have occurred in recent times.

"After the fire in the building some time ago in Central Jakarta, we immediately intensified the inspection of the standard eligibility of the building," said Head of the South Jakarta CKTRP Sudin, Andi Lazuardy.

Andi said the examination was carried out intensively after the fire at a building in Central Jakarta which resulted in the death of the victim.

The eligibility examination is focused on buildings that have a Building Permit (IMB) or Building Building Approval (PBG) with a height of less than eight floors.

The examination was carried out thoroughly by paying attention to a number of important aspects.

"Aspects that are examined include the architecture, function and safety of the building, as well as the suitability of the building for its intended use," he said.

According to him, the inspection also includes the space, circulation, and access to and from the building. Fire safety and protection aspects are one of the main focuses of the activity.

"For fire protection, we check active systems such as hydrants, light fire extinguishers (APAR), alarms, and sprinklers, as well as passive protection systems such as fire doors, building barriers, and evacuation routes," said Andi.

Not only that, his party also ensures the availability and clarity of evacuation signs and the condition of emergency stairs. Building utility aspects are also a concern to ensure that all supporting systems function properly.

"The utilities we examined include electrical installations and panels, as well as vertical facilities such as elevators and escalators," he said.
