Angkot Puncak Dispersed for 4 Days, Drivers Receive Rp200 Thousand Compensation/Day
BOGOR - The West Java Provincial Government has temporarily stopped public transportation operations on the Puncak line for four days and provided a compensation of Rp. 200 thousand per day to drivers and vehicle owners.
Head of the Bogor Regency Transportation Office Bayu Ramawanto said the policy applies on December 24-25 and December 30-31 to support traffic management and road user safety in the Puncak tourist area.
"The temporary suspension of public transportation operations is carried out for four days, with a compensation of Rp. 200 thousand per day for drivers and transportation owners," said Bayu in Cibinong, Friday, December 19, reported by ANTARA.
He explained that compensation was given directly by the government to the recipients who had been recorded, both drivers and vehicle owners, according to the verified transportation data.
According to Bayu, the policy only applies to public transportation serving the Puncak line, starting from Ciawi Market to the Puncak tourist area.
The number of affected transportation reached 750 vehicles, with a breakdown of 02A routes with 520 vehicles, 02B routes with 157 vehicles, and 02C routes with 73 vehicles.
The data collection of compensation recipients has been completed based on name and address, as well as vehicle ownership checked through Samsat data to avoid errors in distribution.
He emphasized that public transportation that still stubbornly operates during the temporary suspension will be immediately stopped and turned back by officers in the field.
"We are monitoring. If there are still those who operate, they will be immediately dismissed," he said.
Bayu said that the policy was the authority of the West Java Provincial Government, while the Bogor Regency Government supported its implementation in the field through supervision and data collection.
He also said that the public using public transportation was urged to adjust their travel to other available modes of transportation during the policy was implemented.
