Pramono: Jakarta Open for Tourists and Foreigners During Christmas and New Year
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo said Jakarta will be open to welcoming tourists and immigrants during the Christmas and New Year 2026 (Nataru) moments.
"Specifically as the Governor of Jakarta, we welcome anyone who will visit Jakarta," said Pramono as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, December 19.
In fact, he prayed that residents outside Jakarta who came could settle in the capital. "Don't just go home, hopefully your hometown is also in Jakarta," he said.
Pramono said the peak of the Christmas and New Year homecoming flow would begin on Saturday (20/12).
At the Pulo Gebang Terminal, Pramono estimated that on that day there would be a fairly high passenger surge, namely around almost 5,000 passengers per day or an increase of almost 100 percent.
Therefore, Pramono appealed to all people who would return home to be careful and obey the rules.
"Once again for residents who will take advantage of the Christmas and New Year holidays, the first must be careful, the second must obey the rules, the third must enjoy the trip," said Pramono.
Previously, the Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Service, Syafrin Liputo, said that 893 bus units from 439 Provincial Inter-City Bus Companies (PO AKAP) were prepared at four main terminals in Jakarta to serve the public during the 2025 Christmas and New Year 2026 (Nataru) transportation period.
Syafrin detailed that four terminals were prepared, namely Pulo Gadung (1,057 bus units), Kampung Rambutan (1,175 buses), Kalideres (567 buses), and Tanjung Priok (94 buses).
In addition to the four main terminals, he continued, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) has also prepared three assistance terminals, namely Grogol Terminal, Lebak Bulus, and Muara Angke to serve the community during the Christmas and New Year Transportation.
Syafrin said that all terminals would be equipped with Nataru Posts with personnel from the Health Service, Police, and TNI.
