Pertamina Refinery Launches UltraDex Diesel Product Equivalent to Euro 5
JAKARTA - Pertamina International Refinery (KPI) has again launched a new diesel product from the Balikpapan Refinery with the name UltraDex. This environmentally friendly product is a continuation of Pertamina's previous success in producing DieselX from the Balongan Refinery
"KPI has just launched a new product type of diesel from the Balikpapan Refinery. This product is called UltraDex," said KPI Corporate Secretary Pjs Milla Suciyani, Friday, December 19.
Milla explained that both DieselX and UltraDex products are diesel products that have equivalent euro 5 quality. This means that this product has a maximum sulfur content of 10 Parts Per Million (ppm).
"Both of these products have their own uniqueness. The presence of UltraDex products further demonstrates KPI's ability to produce fuel that meets market needs and consumer-specific demand," continued Milla.
Meanwhile, General Manager of the Balikpapan Refinery, Novie Handoyo Anto, explained that the UltraDex product produces more efficient combustion, resulting in stable engine performance.
"This of course supports emission reductions as part of the commitment and contribution of the Balikpapan Refinery to the energy transition and Net Zero Emission 2060," said Anto.
UltraDex is produced at the Balikpapan Refinery supported by a crude oil processing capacity of 360,000 barrels per day. With this ability, the Balikpapan Refinery will be able to produce UltraDex to reach around 265,000 barrels per month. As an initial milestone, the Balikpapan Refinery will make the first shipment of UltraDex with a volume of around 53,500 barrels.
Anto explained that the UltraDex product is produced through a precise and integrated purification technology, resulting in a very low sulfur content, namely a maximum of 10 parts per million (ppm), in accordance with the Euro 5 equivalent standard.
"This specification allows UltraDex to provide optimal performance for diesel engines while significantly reducing exhaust gas emissions," said Anto.
KPI President Director, Taufik Aditiyawarman, hopes that the product can become a benchmark for quality and encourage the birth of sustainable innovation at all Pertamina refineries.
"Ultradex is expected to become a benchmark and trigger the birth of further innovations at other Pertamina refineries, to support national energy resilience and sustainable energy transition," said Taufik.
