Aid from the UAE Red Crescent Not Returned, Minister of Law and Human Rights: Dispensed Through Muhammadiyah

JAKARTA - Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian answered the news of the aid from the UAE Red Crescent that was returned. This was revealed by Tito Karnavian at a press conference at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, Jakarta, Friday, December 19.

According to Tito, the government did not return the aid in the form of 30 tons of rice from the UAE for residents affected by disasters in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. The Mayor of Medan Ricco Waas, who did not know that the aid was not from the UAE government, then distributed it.

However, after the agreement was reached, according to Tito, the assistance was given to the Muhammadiyah Medical Center which would then be distributed to the affected residents.
