Kena OTT, Three Banten Attorney General's Prosecutors Temporarily Suspended and Not Paid

JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) has temporarily suspended three prosecutors in the Banten High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) who were entangled in the alleged extortion case and arrested in the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) hand-in-hand operation (OTT).

Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum) of the Indonesian Attorney General's Office, Anang Supriatna, said the temporary suspension was carried out to maintain objectivity and the smooth running of the ongoing legal process.

"The three prosecutors we have suspended from their positions until there is a court decision with binding force," said Anang at the Attorney General's Office, South Jakarta, Friday, December 19, 2025.

The three prosecutors are initials HMK, RP, and RZ. HMK is known to have served as Head of the General Crime Section (Kasipidum) at the Tigaraksa District Attorney's Office, RP is a Public Prosecutor, while RZ is a structural official of the Kasubag at the Banten Attorney's Office who was caught in the KPK OTT.

In addition to being suspended, the Attorney General's Office also temporarily suspended his salary rights during the legal process. This step is called a form of commitment from the institution in enforcing discipline and integrity of law enforcement officials.

"This is part of the firm stance of the Prosecutor's Office. We will not protect internal individuals who are proven to have violated the law," he concluded.

This case was revealed after the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) carried out a hand-in-hand operation (OTT) against a Banten Regional Attorney's Office prosecutor regarding alleged extortion in handling general criminal cases.

The case involves a foreign citizen (WNA) from South Korea and relates to the Information and Electronic Transaction Law (ITE).

In the OTT, the KPK secured cash of around Rp. 941 million and handed over three people to the Prosecutor's Office, namely one prosecutor with the initials RZ and two private parties with the initials DF and MS.

The Attorney General's Office said it had conducted an investigation since December 17, 2025 and appointed two additional suspects, bringing the total number of suspects in this case to five, consisting of three prosecutors and two private parties.

All the suspects are currently being held at the Salemba Detention House, Branch of the Attorney General's Office, to facilitate the investigation process.
