7 Commissioner KY Promises to Work Without Intervention
JAKARTA - Seven members of the Judicial Commission (KY) for the period 2025-2030 are committed to working as hard as possible without intervention in accordance with the oath of office, after the oath-taking ceremony at the State Palace, Jakarta.
This commitment was conveyed by KY Member Abdul Chair Ramdhan, as an initial step by his party in strengthening the independence and quality of the Indonesian judicial institutions.
"We are the seven members of KY who have been inaugurated, took the oath to work as much as possible according to the promise and oath, as expressed," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, December 19.
He stated that all members had agreed from the beginning of the selection process to the inauguration to build synergy and collaboration, both internally at KY and with external stakeholders.
The effort is directed at achieving changes and strengthening a better and quality judicial institution.
In carrying out the function of supervising judges, Abdul Chair emphasized that handling public reports remains the main concern of the KY. However, these reports will be balanced with the investigation and clarification process in accordance with the authority held by the institution.
He emphasized that all supervision work would be carried out based on legal grounds and the provisions of applicable laws and regulations.
Responding to the proliferation of legal cases involving judges, Abdul Chair emphasized that KY would maximize existing authorities without going outside the regulatory corridor.
According to him, every step taken must be legally justified and in line with the purpose of establishing KY.
Regarding the special message from the President regarding the supervision of judges, Abdul Chair ensured that there were no special directions given.
He stated that KY is an independent institution guaranteed by law to work independently without intervention.
Meanwhile, KY member Andi Harun emphasized the importance of moral integrity as the main foundation of judicial supervision. He said that KY played the role of a supervisory judge so that cleanliness and integrity must start from the internal institution itself.
According to Andi Harun, the commitment to maintaining a clean judiciary will be realized collectively by all members of the KY, including through institutional strengthening and the revision of laws that have been prepared.
This step is expected to strengthen the role of the KY in realizing an integrity and trusted public justice system.
