BLACKPINK's Songs to Laufey Entered Barack Obama's Favorite List

JAKARTA - The 44th President of the United States (US), Barack Obama, is back to running his year-end tradition by releasing a list of his favorite music curations throughout the year.

Obama's move to release this annual list has always been a global highlight and often sparks heated discussions on social media.

In the list published via his official Instagram account, Obama's music choices cover a wide spectrum of genres.

The emergence of K-pop music is a highlight in itself. Obama included BLACKPINK's latest single, "Jump", in the list.

Another highlight also came from the hip-hop realm. Obama included Kendrick Lamar's "Luther" (with SZA) and Drake's "Nokia" - which was later known to be in conflict.

The Obama curation also provided a stage for cross-country musicians. Rosalía's name appeared with the song "Sexo, Violencia, y Llantas", standing side by side with Laufey through the song "Silver Lining", Burna Boy through "Tatata", to Chappell Roan with the song "The Giver".

Through this year's list, Obama reiterated that his musical tastes are not limited to one genre, but rather a mix of global trends and personal artistic qualities.
