Man Utd Could Swap Fernandes with Al Hilal Midfielder Ruben Neves

JAKARTA - A scenario beyond expectations when Manchester United is eyeing Al Hilal midfielder Ruben Neves. This opens the opportunity for Al Hilal to get their target player, Bruno Fernandes who could be released by Man Utd to get Neves.

Neves intends to return to the English Premier League after rejecting an extension of his contract from Al Hilal. Neves himself was recruited from Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2023 and received a contract until next year from the Saudi club.

Because he refused the offer of a contract extension, the club was ready to let him go for a price of 20 million pounds. Ironically, Al Hilal actually asked Neves to invite Fernandes to join them.

The reason is that Fernandes has already rejected the offer. Likewise, Man itd will not let go of the captain and manager Ruben Amorim ensures that Fernandes is not sold.

Al Hilal hopes Neves can help in the effort to buy Fernandes. When Al Hilal's big plans were not implemented, Neves left because he wanted to return to playing in the English League.

This opportunity is what Man Utd wants to take advantage of. The Premier League giant needs a defensive midfielder because Casemiro will be released at the end of this season.

The veteran midfielder's contract was not extended and Manuel Ugarte, who is tipped to replace Casemiro, has not lived up to expectations. He has only started twice in the English Premier League competition.

Meanwhile, Kobbie Mainoo, sooner or later, will be sold. Mainoo is actually already interested in Napoli who wants to borrow the England national team player first. However, Man Utd refused to let him go because they hoped to be bought.

However, Man Utd will not rush to find a new midfielder. Even though Neves is one of the priorities, the Red Devils are also eyeing Elliot Anderson, Adam Wharton, Conor Gallagher, Carlos Baleba, Tyler Adams, and Joao Gomes.

After Neves who was on the buy list, Man Utd is eyeing Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo in the January 2026 transfer market. Man Utd intends to hijack this Ghana national team striker who has been targeted by Manchester City.

Semenyo himself is considering a move to Man City. The reason is that manager Pep Guardiola will end his tenure at Etihad at the end of this season. If there is no more Guardiola, Semenyo chooses to reject an offer from Man City.
