OTT Hattrick in 1x24 Hours, KPK: The Transaction is in a Row
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has confirmed that the three hand-capture operations (OTT) held on December 17-18 were not because they were planned or were targeting something. The team moved because there was a transaction that happened and happened to be on the same day.
This was conveyed by KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo when asked about OTT in the Banten, Tangerang and Jakarta regions; Bekasi Regency; and Hulu Sungai Utara (HSU), South Kalimantan within a 1x24 hour period.
"There is no special reason or initiative from the KPK, but this incident of being caught in the act happened almost simultaneously at almost the same time," Budi told reporters at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Friday, December 19.
"This means that the transactions carried out by the parties then occur in a series of time yes in 1-2 days," he continued.
Budi said the team had already collected initial information while moving.
"From there, the KPK then carried out the arrest of the suspected perpetrators of corruption who were caught in the act of committing a crime," he said.
For information, the KPK has held three OTT since Wednesday evening, December 17. First, the activity was carried out in Tangerang, Banten and Jakarta.
From this operation, nine people were secured and one of them was a prosecutor. The examination is still being carried out at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta.
After the examination was carried out, the Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) took over the case because it had issued a preliminary investigation order (sprindik) on December 17 or coincided with the silent operation.
Next, the KPK also held an OTT in Bekasi Regency, West Java. There were 10 people who had been secured and 7 of them were taken to the KPK Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta.
The parties brought in, including the Regent of Bekasi Ade Kuswara Kunang and his father, Haji Kunang. They are still undergoing intensive examination.
Then, the KPK informed of OTT in Hulu Sungai Tengah, South Kalimantan. Six people were secured in the activity, including Albertinus P. Napitulu who is the Head of the North Hulu Sungai District Attorney's Office (Kajari) and Asis Budianto as the North Hulu Sungai District Police Chief.
