Truck Restrictions on Toll Roads Apply Starting Today, Check the List of Locations

JAKARTA - Ahead of the peak of the 2025 Christmas and New Year holidays (Nataru 2025/2026), the government has again imposed operational restrictions on freight transport on a number of arterial roads or non-toll roads.

Citing information shared by the Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) of the Ministry of Public Works (PU), the regulation on the operational restrictions of freight during the Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 period is applied on a number of toll road sections in the regions of Sumatra, DKI Jakarta, Banten, Central Java and East Java.

The policy came into effect today, as an effort to reduce the potential for traffic congestion when people's mobility increases sharply.

For the initial phase, the restriction on freight transport on the toll road was implemented on December 19-20, 2025, starting at 00.00-22.00 local time.

Next, a similar rule was reapplied on December 23-28, 2025, from 05.00 to 22.00. Meanwhile, during the New Year's holiday period, restrictions apply from January 2-4, 2026, from 05.00-22.00 local time.

"The restrictions apply to certain freight vehicles in accordance with the provisions that have been set with time and toll road sections during the year-end holiday period," wrote BPJT management on its official Instagram account @pupr_bpjt, quoted Friday, December 19.

The operational restrictions on freight transport include freight cars with three axles or more, a flat car or a tandem car, and freight cars used to transport mining products (soil, sand, stone) and mine products as well as building materials such as iron, cement, and wood.

The following toll roads are subject to restrictions:
