Suzuki Celebrates 350 Thousand Units of WagonR Production from Three Generations
JAKARTA - Maruti Suzuki India Limited celebrates a cumulative production milestone of 35 lakh units or 350 thousand of the three generations of the iconic WagonR model.
CEO of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, Hisashi Takeuchi, said this achievement is not only a production milestone, but also reflects the enduring love and trust that generations of customers have shown for the WagonR brand. He revealed that it is rare for a vehicle to receive such acceptance even after 25 years since its launch.
"WagonR continues to evolve with the introduction of new technology and features from time to time, while maintaining its original DNA. WagonR is highly valued for aspects such as iconic design, spacious interior, and fuel efficiency, which accurately reflect the needs and expectations of our customers," he said, quoted from the official website, Friday, December 19.
In Japan, the Suzuki WagonR was first introduced in September 1993. Developed as a mini wagon. this car gained immense popularity as a comfortable and easy-to-use car. This car is produced in Japan, India, Hungary, and Indonesia. Currently, the WagonR is sold in more than 75 countries and regions around the world, including Japan, India, and Europe.
Meanwhile, in India, Maruti Suzuki WagonR was launched in 1999. Over the years, WagonR has evolved in line with customer expectations, as it continues to retain its core values of spaciousness and comfort while advancing the standards of the family hatchback with more modern safety and premium features.
Built on the 5th generation HEARTECT platform, the latest edition of the WagonR comes equipped with 6 airbags as standard, along with a host of advanced safety features, including Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), EBD AND ESP. WagonR comes with a host of comfort and convenience features including a touchscreen infotainment system, and is connected to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
