Antisipasi Lonjakan Traffic, Komdigi dan Opsel Siapkan 255 Posko Monitoring Jaringan

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Digital predicts a 30 percent surge in telecommunications network traffic during the 2025 Christmas and New Year holidays (Nataru) compared to normal days.

Komdigi through the Directorate General of Digital Infrastructure has held meetings with mobile operators and has coordinated intensively to prepare various efforts to mitigate traffic increases.

"So if there is an increase in traffic, I am told that the prediction is increasing by 30 percent, then the strengths must also be increased," said the Minister of Communication and Information, Meutya Hafid, in the Implementation of the Joint Apel with the Telecommunications Service Quality Alert Post for Christmas 2025 and New Year on Friday, December 19.

In addition, to anticipate this surge, mobile operators have also carried out optimization at a number of Point of Interest (POI) in crowded and holiday centers during this period.

The three mobile operators, XLSMART, Telkomsel, and Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison have also provided mobile BTS along the toll road and strategic points as well as preparing Nataru promo packages for customers.

Meanwhile, Komdigi also formed a joint post task force at 255 points to monitor the quality of telecommunications services and monitor the radio frequency spectrum at 35 UPT Radio Frequency Spectrum Monitoring Centers which will be implemented from December 19 to January 4, 2026.

The implementation of the task force at the post is located at a number of strategic points, namely at transportation centers such as Soekarno Hatta International Airport, Merak Banten Port, Kilometer 57 Rest Area, Tanjung Perak Port Surabaya, and Tanjung Pinang Port, Bintan Regency.

"Then also at tourist spots, such as Kuta Beach in Bali, the Ratipau Toraja Art Center, and Manado Town Square," continued the Director General of Digital Infrastructure Komdigi, Wayan Toni Supriyanto.
