Brad Pitt Wins from Angelina Jolie over Winery Ownership

Brad Pitt won a conflict over ownership of a winery with his ex-wife, Angelina Jolie. The Los Angeles Superior Court asked Jolie to hand over messages or communication materials related to Château Miraval.

Launching People, the court granted Brad Pitt's request to reveal the contents of the message between Jolie and her lawyer. Previously, Jolie was reluctant to share the message because she had the right to show the message.

"The court orders Jolie to produce in full, within 45 days of this Order, an unredacted version of the communications exchanged between non-lawyers in 22 documents identified in Jolie's privilege log dated February 14, 2025 with the Document ID numbers listed in the Attachment to this Order," one of the documents reads.

Pitt's side said the documents could show evidence that Angelina Jolie was not being honest about her intention to sell shares in the winery business.

Brad Pitt sued Angelina Jolie in 2022 and claimed his ex-wife sold her stake in Miraval to Tenute del Mondo, the wine division of the Stoli Group, without Pitt's knowledge. In fact, they had a promise that the two would not sell shares unless the other party agreed.

Jolie's side denied the agreement and sued again. Jolie also said Pitt refused to buy her shares because he did not want to sign an agreement to cover up the abuse and personal feud between the two in 2016.

Pitt also sued Jolie again for 35 million US dollars for losses on the sale of shares of the plantation in 2021.

Paul Murphy as Angelina Jolie's advisor regretted the court's decision and will appeal.

"We are disappointed with the court's interpretation of California's privilege law. The court's ruling violates the law, undermines Jolie's fundamental right to a fair trial, and is another manifestation of Pitt's years-long attempt to harass and control her. We will appeal," said Paul Murphy.

The celebrity couple separated in 2016. In the marriage they had six children, but officially separated in December 2024.
