Toyota Launches the Latest RAV4, Featuring a Bold Design and a New Generation Hybrid System
JAKARTA - Toyota Motor Corporation officially launched the all-new 6th generation RAV4 in Japan. This car was developed with a focus on the keywords Diversification, Electrification, and Intelligence.
In terms of exterior design, the design is based on three key elements, namely the big foot which emphasizes the large diameter tire for a sturdy position like an SUV, the lift up which evokes agile off-road performance and utility ensures easy-to-use cargo space and is capable of accommodating anything.
In terms of dimensions, by focusing on everyday ease of use, the vehicle's size remains the same, namely 4,600 mm long, 1,855 mm wide, and 1,680 mm high, quoting from its official website, Friday, December 19.
Meanwhile, in terms of interior, the new RAV4 adopts an island architecture where various functions such as display and gear shifting are grouped together and arranged like an island.
In addition to the horizontal instrument panel that gives the impression of a balanced vehicle that is easy to understand, this architecture offers improved ease of use by arranging the navigation system, meters, and other elements in such a way as to minimize eye movements, and the air conditioning vents are positioned to be easily accessible.
The RAV4 is available in three different variants ranging from Z, Adventure. For the Z variant, it still offers a dashing impression, the adventure variant emphasizes a tough image that exudes strength in all terrains.
In terms of the power plant, the latest Toyota RAV4 comes with a new generation hybrid system that is more powerful. The efficient 2.5-liter four-cylinder in-line gasoline engine is the main basis, producing a maximum system output of up to 177 kW or equivalent to 240 hp.
Toyota's commitment is strengthened thanks to the presence of the RAV4 GR SPORT which is scheduled to be launched in fiscal year 2026. Meanwhile, the newly developed plug-in hybrid (PHEV) system is scheduled to be released in fiscal year 2025, which provides smooth acceleration and unique power performance for electric vehicles.
Toyota is targeting sales of 3,000 units per month for this latest hybrid SUV. The sixth generation RAV4 is priced from 4.5 million yen or around Rp482 million.
