Next Year, Christopher Nolan Reveals First Poster for The Odyssey Film
JAKARTA - Director Christopher Nolan has started promoting his latest film, The Odyssey. Although it will only be released next year, he has launched an 'attack' this year, starting with the first poster released.
The first poster released shows the figure of a soldier from behind. This figure is thought to be Odysseus, the character played by Matt Damon. He wears a helmet with a gold crest that adds an element of luxury.
This poster is also a new teaser that was released after previously releasing a poster from the top view version. This time, Matt Damon's character is starting to be introduced.
In addition to the poster character, a six-minute prologue was shown exclusively in IMAX before the screening of the film Avatar: Fire and Ash. This prologue is a little of the story of The Odyssey that was released for the audience.
This step was previously used before Paul Thomas Anderson's One Battle After Another and Ryan Coogler's Sinners.
Citing Variety, Nolan chose to release this six-minute prologue because of the holiday season so that audiences would find out about the film.
The film also stars Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong'o, Robert Pattinson, John Leguizamo, Mia Goth, Charlize Theron, and Jon Bernthal.
The Odyssey tells the story of Odysseus, King of Ithaca on his journey to the Trojan Horse and encounters various creatures to reunite him with his wife, Penelope.
The Odyssey will be in theaters on July 17, 2026.
