KPK OTT 2025 Series: The Latest Bekasi Regent Who Has Been Caught
JAKARTA - The hand-in-hand operation (OTT) that ensnared Bekasi Regent Ade Kuswara Kunang added to the long list of actions taken by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) throughout 2025. In one year, the KPK has been recorded several times to carry out OTT against regional heads, ministry officials, to law enforcement officers.
KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo confirmed the arrest of Ade Kuswara in a series of OTT in Bekasi Regency, West Java.
"Yes, one of them," Budi told reporters in Jakarta, Friday, December 19.
Budi explained that Ade Kuswara is currently undergoing intensive examination by KPK investigators. Previously, the KPK confirmed that it had arrested ten people in the OTT in Bekasi until Friday evening.
"Yes, the examination is still being carried out inside," said Budi.
According to the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP), the KPK has 1x24 hours to determine the legal status of the parties who were secured in the OTT.
The arrest in Bekasi is part of a series of OTT carried out by the KPK since the beginning of 2025. In March 2025, the KPK initiated the action with OTT against members of the DPRD and officials of the Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUPR) Office of Ogan Komering Ulu Regency, South Sumatra.
In June 2025, the KPK again carried out an OTT related to alleged bribery of a road construction project at the North Sumatra Provincial PUPR Office and the National Road Implementation Unit for Region I of North Sumatra.
Furthermore, on August 7-8, 2025, the KPK held an OTT in Jakarta, Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi, and Makassar, South Sulawesi. The action was related to alleged corruption in the construction of a regional public hospital project in Kolaka Timur, Southeast Sulawesi.
The KPK also carried out an OTT in Jakarta on August 13, 2025 regarding the alleged bribery of cooperation in forest area management. A week later, on August 20, 2025, the KPK held an OTT in the case of alleged extortion of K3 certification management at the Ministry of Manpower involving Immanuel Ebenezer Gerungan, who was then Deputy Minister of Manpower.
Entering November 2025, the KPK arrested Riau Governor Abdul Wahid on November 3 in an OTT related to alleged extortion in the Riau Provincial Government's 2025 Fiscal Year environment. Four days later, on November 7, 2025, the KPK again carried out an OTT against Ponorogo Regent Sugiri Sancoko, related to alleged bribes for handling positions, projects at the dr. Harjono Ponorogo Hospital, as well as other gratification receipts.
On December 9-10, 2025, the KPK arrested the Regent of Central Lampung, Ardito Wijaya, in an OTT related to the alleged receipt of gifts and gratuities in the Central Lampung Regency Government's 2025 Fiscal Year.
Finally, on December 17-18, 2025, the KPK held an OTT in Tangerang and arrested a prosecutor, two lawyers, and six private parties. In the action, investigators seized cash amounting to Rp. 900 million.
This series of OTT throughout 2025 shows the intensity of the KPK's action against alleged corruption crimes involving various elements, ranging from regional heads, ministry officials, to law enforcement officials.
