Megawati Officially Back to Jakarta Pertamina Enduro for Proliga 2026
JAKARTA - Indonesian women's volleyball star Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi has officially rejoined her old club Jakarta Pertamina Enduro (JPE) to face the 2026 Proliga competition.
The certainty was announced by the Jakarta Pertamina Enduro through their official Instagram social media page on Thursday, December 18, 2025.
"He's back! Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi," wrote Jakarta Pertamina Enduro in a statement to accompany the upload of Megawati's video.
The 2026 Proliga competition is the fifth year that Megawati has strengthened Jakarta Pertamina Enduro. He had previously brought JPE to become runner-up in the Proliga on three occasions (2016, 2019, and 2023).
Megawati's return to the 2026 Proliga also dispelled rumors that the player nicknamed Megatron would return to the South Korean Volleyball League (V-League).
JPE in the upload on Instagram narrated Tisya Amallya who contacted Megawati to return to the club because their player, Junaida Santi, was still recovering from an injury.
The Jember-born volleyball player was previously contracted by the Turkish club, Manisa BBSK. He was then released and since then the future of the 26-year-old player has continued to be a mystery.
One of the rumors that had surfaced was returning to the South Korean club, Red Sparks, which he had previously helped become runners-up in the 2024/2025 competition season.
Megawati recently helped Indonesia win a bronze medal at the 2025 SEA Games. Megatron and his colleagues beat the Philippines to get that achievement.
