Roy Suryo Cs Can File a Pre-Trial If They Disagree with the Results of the Title of the Case

JAKARTA - The results of the special case title in the case of the false diploma allegations of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) have been held. Although the results did not change Roy Suryo Cs' status as a suspect, the former Minister of Youth and Sports in the era of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, along with other suspects, can apply for a pretrial.

"Regarding the determination of the suspects that we have made, if the suspects or their lawyers object, they are welcome to conduct testing through the pre-trial mechanism as stipulated in the Criminal Procedure Code," said Director of General Criminal Investigation (Direskrimum) of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Iman Imanuddin, to the media at the Metro Jaya Police, Thursday, December 18, 2025.

He emphasized that the special case title had been carried out transparently, professionally, and proportionally. To ensure accountability, investigators also invited various parties, both from within and outside the police.

"In order to ensure transparency, professionalism, and proportionality, we have invited participants in the title of the case, both internal supervisors, external supervisors, and principals, namely the reporter and the reported," he said.

In addition, the Metro Jaya Police also invited a number of external institutions, including the National Police Commission (Kompolnas), the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia, the National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas HAM), and the National Commission on Violence against Women (Komnas Perempuan).

However, Iman said that Komnas HAM and Komnas Perempuan could not attend the special trial because there were other agendas that could not be left behind.

In the implementation of a special case title, investigators provide an opportunity for principals to convey complaints, complaints, and additional legal facts.

Previously, the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) of the Metro Jaya Police, revealed the results of a special title of the case in the investigation of the alleged fake diploma of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

The special case title was held on Monday, December 15, 2025, as a follow-up to Roy Suryo Cs's application. However, it was only officially broadcast today through a press conference, Thursday, December 18, 2025, at the Polda Metro Jaya.

Iman emphasized that Jokowi's original diploma was shown in front of the forum after being officially confiscated from the reporter.

"Investigators have shown a diploma in the name of Joko Widodo issued by the Faculty of Forestry, UGM, which was confiscated from the reporter," he concluded.
