Results of the Title of the Case Announced, Roy Suryo Cs Still Suspected of the Case of False Degrees of Jokowi

JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya announced the results of the special title of the case filed by Roy Suryo Cs regarding their designation as suspects in the case of alleged fake diplomas of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo.

The Director of Special Criminal Investigation (Dirkrimsus) of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Pol Iman Imanuddin, emphasized that Roy Suryo Cs' legal status remained as a suspect.

"After the investigators conducted a fairly long investigation process and obtained legal facts in the investigation stage, based on valid evidence as regulated in the Criminal Procedure Code, the investigators have determined the suspects and closed the case," said Iman in a press conference at Mapolda Metro Jaya, Thursday (18/12/2025).

Iman explained, in the special trial forum, investigators had presented evidence in the form of a document of Jokowi's diploma. Based on the results of the examination, the diploma was declared authentic.

"We convey that in the special case title forum, with the consent and agreement of the parties, the investigator has shown a diploma in the name of Joko Widodo issued by the Faculty of Forestry, University of Gadjah Mada. The document has been seized by the investigator from the reporter, Mr. Ir. H. Joko Widodo," he said.

He added that the testing method used had met the standard operating procedures (SOP) and was based on scientific and scientific methodology. The tested documents are the main documents that are compared with the reference documents from the same year and publishing institution.

Regarding objections to the determination of suspects, Iman stated that investigators opened legal space through the pre-trial mechanism.

"If the suspects or their lawyers feel objections to the determination of the suspects that we have made, they are welcome to take legal action through the pre-trial mechanism as regulated in the Criminal Procedure Code," he said.

Previously, Roy Suryo's lawyer, Cs, Abdul Gafur Sangadji, emphasized that the special title of the case should not be merely an administrative formality. He asked that the process be carried out openly, qualitatively, and substantively.

It is known that the special case title is scheduled to take place on Monday (15/12/2025) at Polda Metro Jaya and is divided into two stages. The first stage was held at 10.00 WIB for the first cluster with five suspects. The second stage took place at 14.00 WIB for the second cluster involving three suspects, namely Roy Suryo, Rismon, and dr. Tifa.

"The title of this case must be an opportunity for the suspects and investigators to discuss in depth the basis for the determination of the suspects, so that it no longer raises questions in the public," said Abdul Gafur.
