Ammar Zoni Denies Having a Hard Drug in the Salemba Prison Cell
JAKARTA - The continuation of the case of alleged drug abuse with the defendant Ammar Zoni was held again at the Central Jakarta District Court (PN), Thursday, December 18.
The atmosphere of the trial was tense when the 32-year-old actor publicly expressed his objections to the testimony of the witness.
Ammar Zoni denied almost all of the testimony delivered by Eka Karjareja, an officer of the Salemba Detention Center who was presented by the Public Prosecutor (JPU).
The debate began when Ammar questioned the witness regarding the capacity of the cell where he was detained. The witness's testimony that the cell was a type of residence for one person was immediately refuted by Aditya Zoni's brother.
"It's all Your Majesty's fault. First, about capacity, there are four people in my room. I am indeed alone upstairs, but three people downstairs," said Ammar Zoni in the Central Jakarta District Court.
Apart from the condition of the cell, Ammar also highlighted the chronology of the search as described by the witness. He refuted the claim of the officers who found evidence of methamphetamine and marijuana on the cell door while he was at the location.
Ammar insisted that when the discovery of the prohibited goods occurred, he had already been taken out of the cell.
"Second, during the search, when the evidence was found, I was not at the crime scene Your Honor. I have been brought to the front," he explained.
Ammar's emotions seemed to peak when the witness repeatedly answered "forget" when asked about crucial details during the search process. He regretted the witness's attitude, which he considered not remembering important points regarding his fate.
"Well, those are the important points that you forget, that's what's funny. We are looking for truth and justice here because this is our fate, sir. You have been sworn under the Qur'an," said Ammar in a disappointed tone.
Closing his rebuttal, Ammar Zoni again emphasized that the drugs found by officers on the cell door had nothing to do with him.
"Most importantly, it's not my stuff Your Majesty," he concluded.
