BWF World Tour Finals 2025: Jafar/Felisha Ditekuk Wakil Malaysia

JAKARTA - The mixed doubles team of Jafar Hidayatullah/Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu again tasted defeat in the continuation of the BWF World Tour Finals (WTF) 2025 group stage.

Their fight to get the first win against third seeds Chen Tang Jie/Toh Ee Wei ended with a score of 21-17, 14-21, and 15-21 at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Centre Gymnasium on Thursday, December 18, 2025.

"From the beginning, we were actually behind, but we were able to turn things around and steal the victory in the first game. However, in the second game, it was difficult after the interval."

"They always want to be ahead of us, play faster and keep ambushing in front. With our position winning the wind, we are not too free, a lot of hesitation and fear if we want to play long or lift the ball," said Jafar.

After losing the second game, Jafar/Felisha couldn't do much in the deciding game. They fell behind three points at the start of the game and couldn't fight to equalize or take the lead.

"In the third game we were behind from the start. After the interval, the distance got further and they got more confident. We still tried, but many of them died on their own, wrong on their own, so they couldn't get out of the pressure," said Felisha.

This defeat further worsened Jafar/Felisha's win-loss record against the Malaysian pair. From a total of six clashes, they have never tasted victory.

Jafar/Felisha then returned to face the Malaysian representative, Goh Soon Huat/Lai Shevon Jemie. In the previous two meetings, Jafar/Felisha always came out as the winner.

"Tomorrow in the last match we still don't want to lose, our record meeting is quite good against Goh/Lai. We want to extend that positive trend," said Jafar.

This is the second defeat suffered by Jafar/Felisha in the BWF World Tour Finals 2025 group stage. Previously in the first match yesterday, December 17, 2025, they also had to admit the superiority of the Chinese representative, Feng Yanzhe/Huang Dongping.
