Review the Construction of the Matuang Bailey Bridge in West Sumatra, Prabowo Asks for Local Flagship Commodities

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto reviewed the progress of the Mantuang Bailey Bridge construction in Padang Pariaman Regency, West Sumatra (Sumbar), Thursday, December 18.

President Prabowo arrived at Padang Pariaman Regency and headed to the bridge location to conduct a field review.

During the activity, the President was accompanied by a number of officials, including Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Secretary of State Minister Prasetyo Hadi, West Sumatra Governor Mahyeldi, and Padang Pariaman Regent John Kenedy Azis.

At the location, the President was seen climbing the bridge and checking directly the condition and strength of the Bailey Bridge construction.

The Head of State also talked to TNI soldiers who were involved in the construction of the bridge.

The President then held a dialogue with the Regent of Padang Pariaman John K. Azis in the middle of the bridge, including asking about the local region's flagship commodities.

"The coconut here is the source, sir," said John.

After reviewing the construction of the bridge infrastructure, the Head of State then greeted the residents and children who welcomed his arrival. The President greeted one by one the children who had lined up to interact.

After the review in Padang Pariaman, the President continued the agenda of a visit to Tanah Datar Regency.

Previously, the President had visited Agam Regency to review the evacuation post and the construction of temporary housing in Salareh Aia Village.
