KPK Prosecutor to Prepare Charges against Immanuel Ebenezer et al. in Connection with the K3 Certification Extortion Case
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said that its prosecutors have 14 days to prepare the indictment of the former Deputy Minister of Manpower (Wamenaker) Immanuel Ebenezer or Noel Ebenezer.
This was conveyed by KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo who stated that the investigation into the alleged extortion of the management of occupational safety and health (K3) certification at the Ministry of Manpower (Kemenaker) had been completed. This case is now in the prosecution stage because it has been declared complete or P-21.
"Investigators have completed the second stage process by handing over evidence and 11 suspects to the prosecutor's team or JPU," Budi told reporters in a written statement, Thursday, December 18.
Budi said the prosecutor would soon prepare a letter of indictment to be submitted and read in the Corruption Court. "The maximum time is 14 working days to prepare the letter of indictment," he said.
This accusation, continued Budi, will be the actions of the suspects in the process of managing the certification of K3. "In the investigation of this case, from the identification by the investigators through the accounts of the suspects, the alleged extortion carried out amounted to Rp. 201 billion for the period 2020-2025," he said.
"This amount does not include cash or in the form of goods such as cars, motorcycles, facilities for departure for the hajj, umrah, and others," continued Budi.
Meanwhile, Noel Ebenezer admitted that he was ready to undergo the next stage after the investigation process. He said that he was a fighter who was ready in all conditions.
"P21 today, yes, you have to be ready. The time is not ready," Noel told reporters.
"Any fighter has to be ready," he continued, smiling.
The following are the details of the other 10 suspects in this case whose files were also forwarded:

As previously reported, the KPK has named 11 suspects related to the alleged extortion of occupational safety and health certificates (K3). This determination began with a hand-in-hand operation (OTT) which netted 14 people, including Deputy Minister of Manpower (Wamenaker) Immanuel Ebenezer.
This case then developed and the anti-corruption commission named three other people as suspects.
They are Chairul Fadly Harahap as Secretary of the Directorate General of Manpower and Occupational Safety and Health Supervision (Binwasnaker and K3) of the Ministry of Manpower; Haiyani Rumondang as Director General (Dirjen) of Manpower and K3 Supervision; and Sunardi Manampiar Sinaga as former Head of the Public Relations Bureau of the Ministry of Manpower.
The three are suspects because they are suspected of enjoying the flow of extortion money. This finding was obtained after investigators examined a number of witnesses and suspects who had previously been appointed.
