Develop Gas Transmission Pipeline Project, WIKA Bags Rp1.87 Trillion Contract
JAKARTA - PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA) has strengthened its position as a strategic partner of the government in supporting the downstream program. One of them is evidenced by the acquisition of the SKG Belawan - Labuhan Batu Station Gas Transmission Pipeline construction contract worth IDR 1.87 trillion.
The project is part of the National Strategic Project (PSN) in the energy sector as stated in Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 109 of 2020.
The scope of work includes the preparation, survey and technical investigation, detailed engineering design (DED), procurement and construction of gas facilities, compressor systems, transmission pipeline networks, pig launcher and pig receiver facilities, gas metering systems, corrosion control (ICCP) to the pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up stages.
WIKA will build a gas transmission pipeline of approximately 279.8 kilometers (km) connecting the Belawan Gas Compressor Station (SKG) to the Labuhan Batu Station in the Sumatra region, to strengthen the reliability of the national gas distribution network.
WIKA President Director Agung Budi Waskito said that the acquisition of the contract further strengthened WIKA's position in the development of large-scale and strategic energy infrastructure.
According to Agung Budi, the trust given to WIKA to work on the project is proof of the company's capability in managing complex energy projects.
"At the same time, it supports the self-sufficiency of energy, energy transition, and national energy independence," he said in a written statement, Wednesday, December 17.
