Bogor West Expansion Targeted to Start Developing in 2027
BOGOR - Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto emphasized that the plan to expand the West Bogor Regency was no longer a mere discourse, but had entered a serious stage through measurable administrative and technical steps.
Rudy said that the struggle to form the West Bogor Regency had been going on for more than 30 years, so a thorough evaluation was needed so that the process of expansion would not stagnate again.
"This expansion can no longer be just a discourse. It must be prepared concretely, planned, and really prioritize the interests of the people of West Bogor," said Rudy when giving a speech at the Workshop, Inauguration, and Working Meeting of the Committee for the Preparation of the Formation of West Bogor Regency (KPPKBB) in Leuwiliang, Bogor Regency, Wednesday, December 17.
He revealed that one of the main obstacles that have been hindering expansion is the lack of certainty about the location of the capital, land availability, and the planning of a mature government area.
"The classic problem is always the same, from the capital to the readiness of the land. This is what we are now repairing one by one," he said.
Rudy explained that the Bogor Regency Government had taken concrete steps by sending an official letter to PT Perkebunan Nusantara on August 26, 2025 regarding the request for land for the prospective area of preparation for the West Bogor Regency. The request was then answered on November 4, 2025.
In addition, the Bogor Regency Government also involved the planners of the national capital who were involved in preparing the concept of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) to design the concept of the capital city of West Bogor Regency.
"We want the West Bogor capital to be prepared with a standard of mature planning, not just an administrative symbol," he said.
Rudy also touched on the significant increase in infrastructure budgets in Bogor Regency since the beginning of his leadership, including the construction of roads and basic facilities in the West Bogor area.
He targeted that the process of opening land for the future capital could begin in 2027, while the construction of the government center and public service facilities is planned to take place in 2028.
According to Rudy, the expansion of West Bogor Regency is an urgent need for the community to accelerate the equalization of development, improve the quality of public services, and encourage regional economic growth.
"This is not a personal interest, party, or certain groups. This is purely the needs of the people of West Bogor," he said.
He also invited all community leaders, government elements, and regional elements to maintain unity and leave differences of opinion in order to realize the expansion of West Bogor Regency.
