Ministry of PKP Promotes Vertical Housing Development in Urban Areas
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Housing and Spatial Planning (PKP) continues to encourage the development of vertical housing as a solution in urban areas.
"This means that for urban land, we also want to focus on how to also encourage vertical housing. Therefore, we also need information related to land that can be used, even if, for example, with the government or private parties and others with some mechanisms. So, that is also a concern," said Director General of Urban Housing of the Ministry of Public Housing Sri Haryati in his statement in Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Thursday, December 18.
Sri said the Ministry of PKP was mapping (mapping) related to land needs for vertical housing in urban areas.
"That was just what we discussed. In any case, for the next time, the technical team will discuss in detail the numbers," he said.
Previously, Deputy Minister of Housing and Settlements (PKP) Fahri Hamzah revealed that vertical housing or vertical housing is the core of housing in urban areas.
Vertical housing in urban areas must be accelerated due to land limitations for housing development in Indonesian cities.
Fahri revealed that social housing or social housing in the form of vertical housing is a solution for providing housing in urban areas.
The land that can immediately be accessed includes state-owned land, state-owned BUMN land, local government land, land that needs to be consolidated, slums, riverbanks, beaches, and so on.
The land in the middle of the city must be consolidated to become vertical housing.
