JAKARTA - Data from the Financial Transaction Reporting and Analysis Center (PPATK) shows that from the beginning of 2025 to the third quarter, the amount of turnover of online gambling funds reached Rp. 155 trillion or down 57 percent compared to 2024.

The Minister of Communication and Digital, Meutya Hafid, stated that the decline was a tangible result of the government's commitment to protecting the public from the social and economic impact of online gambling.

"This is a collective achievement of the government and the community, which also shows that the state is seriously present to protect the community, especially vulnerable groups, from the clutches of online gambling," Meutya said in an official statement.

The Deputy Chairperson of the Golkar Party also emphasized that the government would continue to strengthen supervision and action against all forms of online gambling practices, and would not stop here.

The Ministry of Communication and Information has consistently continued to cut off access to content and online gambling sites that operate in the digital space in Indonesia.

"Every report from the community and the findings of our system are followed up quickly as part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy digital space," said Meutya.
